The Scion IM is the Scion version of the Auris.

The Scion IA is a small sports saloon - based on the new Mazda 2 and built by Mazda.

The next US version of the Yaris will also supposedly be Mazda 2 based and built by Mazda.

Well since they're not even trying to make a Yarissy Yaris any more, the '2 isn't a bad model to base it off, although like most models it seems to be putting on weight as it gets older!

Mazda have licenced hybrid technology from Toyota for use in their hybrids. Suppose using the Mazda 2 as the basis for the Scion IA and the next US Yaris is Mazda's end of the bargain.
