Hello Simon - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

By the way, using capitals on a forum is the equivalent of shouting.

Surely it would be better to go with a car that is a known quantity - the Micra. Your uncle has maintained the car, knows its good and bad points, is likely to be able to tell you what may need doing in the short term, and you can be more certain the mileage is genuine.

The Yaris - 12,000 miles on a 15/16 year old vehicle works out to less than 1,000 a year. Big question over this is whether the mileage is genuine. Does whatever service history and previous MOT certificates the current owner has, support this mileage?

Think, regardless of the cheaper insurance, the Micra is the stronger candidate for your consideration.
