Service Charges...

Just bought 2010 plate Verso ..20000 on clock just had full service ..was asked to pay for leaking water pump but reminded service station that 5 year guarantee covers this why was I asked to pay ...key Battery was supposedly changed as replacement on service but began to fail and when returned for replacement I was asked to pay for new Battery ..Refused and asked them to check service records as I would not expect to pay for Battery TWICE .Not a good start to Toyota ownership and my views on service charges

Hello Ray - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

The Toyota 5 year/100,000 mile new car warranty was introduced from 1st June 2010 - for vehicles first registered prior to this, the Toyota new car warranty was 3 years/60,000 miles. However, no excuse for the dealer not checking when the car was first registered and which warranty applied.

Thanks for reply...my son had used particular dealer and when I was there other visitors were praising service..however .first impressions etc etc..
