Hi.

Make sure you are buying a 4wd one if you are towing a horsebox. I do not know about the latest models but some of the earlier ones were only 2wd. I have a 2.2 XTR but the earlier shape, 4.3.5 auto but i think you are looking at a 4.4. (Latest shape?) The auto g/box is as smooth as silk, was you thinking of a manual or auto....the XTR has flappy paddles behind the steering wheel on the auto and generally a good spec. Again i don't know about the latest shape but do you know the Rav 4 as long as it is 4wd always pulls away in 4wd and at 24 mph becomes Fwd as it has a very tried and tested gismo on the rear axle that clicks in and out should you get into wheel spinning problems, so it has the benefit of 4wd but also smoother when it becomes Fwd and saves fuel. If you look up in the 'Members' and type in Kingo he can advise you about the genuine Toyota towbar and electrics or of course you can use a local place to yourself as long as they know what they are doing which will possibly be cheaper.

Mike.

Hi and welcome,

Have a look at this site for tow bars (www.witter-towbars.co.uk) I have the semi automatic on my car with the swan neck.

I also have the rubber doughnuts fitted to my springs to assist with the added weight to the rear of the car.

If you need help with anything else just ask.

Dave
