Rav 4 Key Recognition Problem

Hello,

My Rav 4 (2007) does not recognise both keys and when I unlock it manually, the alarm turns on and I can't start the car. Any ideas what should I do? Thanks in advance.

Hi Anon.

The first thing i would try is opening the bonnet and disconnecting the Battery negative lead and leave it for about 30 minutes to allow the car to reset itself.

Obviously reconnect the Battery lead and see if it has worked at all.

Of course make sure the keys are not inside the car incase the car self locks itself with the keys inside.
