1997 Rav4 Thermostat Replace

Have had my Rav a little over a year. Not great heat in winter, but ok.

Mechanic says thermostat stuck open, need replacement.

Hot/cold indicator usually just above cold line.

After new thermostat, hot/cold line up, about mid-way.

Is this my new "normal" running temp ?

I had a 1991 Toyota Tercel, that I bought new, and drove happily for 23 years.

That gauge was also always near the cold. I knew it was getting too warm when it got halfway.

I guess I'll have to get used to this new "normal" and just enjoy my RAV, which is my baby !
