Knocking / Tapping Noise

Wondering if anybody else is having a small knocking noise when going over small bumps.

At first I thought it was coming from inside the car, maybe something out of place since that everything is clipped it place. I checked and found everything in place and there are no loose panels.

This noise only happens when I am driving at slow speeds, to me sounds like it is coming from the front passenger side or the left side of the RAV4.

I checked the seatbelt holder and it not coming from there, as anybody else had issues with the suspension after a year?

Hi Frank,

The front suspension "Drop Links" are a common cause of knocks and rattles at low speed, they are a quick and fairly cheap item to replace but you must still be under warranty so get your dealer to check them over. If it is the drop links strange they have not lasted very long.

Thank you for your reply.

I have a strong suspicion that it is coming from the suspension.

I noticed it when I was going over a speed bump, I will almost stop the RAV4 and as soon as the wheel touches the speed bump and I will accerlate the noise will occur.

I then started noticing the noise going over small dips and cracks on the road but only at low speeds.

Thank you for your feed back, I will at least have an idea when I go to the dealer on Thursday.
