has anyone done them

just found out that its has to be on a A1 paper (8 times bigger than A4)

min font size is 20

how do I fit it in my printer

I dont want to glues bits of paper together

if I give a file to a printing company will they do it, and how much will it cost?

unless you have an A1 printer vmail, which I very much doubt - then you will not fit A1 paper in your A4 printer...

Take the file to a printing company on CD and they will print it to the spec you want, price... who knows... wouldn't expect it to be more than a couple of quid

cheers, do I design it at A1 size

that would kill my 2GB RAM, 3.3GHz Processor, and hard drive, would need to burn it onto a DVD

cant just give them an A4 doc, it would look cack when it gets blown up

or the best option would be vector image, (something that I am not good at)

your comp should cope with it, how do you think they design billboard size posters?

I would be very suprised if it came to more than 670mb as a file when you were done with it....

design it as A1, burn it off and take it to the printing comp.

A1 is 594mm × 841mm or 23.39" x 33.11"

say if using 2400 DPI

so

56136 x 79440 pixels x 24 bit colour

= 99.67GB (Uncompressed ie Bitmap)

if using 600 DPI it would be 6.23GB

could someone check this for me

use a lower resolution

on something that size and application ultimate picture quality is a waste of time and youll get charged for using more ink at the printers!

cant remember now but theres a company on the net and all you do is email them the picture, fill in a few bits and bobs, pay ya cash by credit card and they then print it out, bung it in a tube and its on your doors step in a couple of days

my old man uses it alot for his photography and it saves buying a 1k photo printer!

like i say the name evades me at the time being so ill find out later
