Avensis Window Regulator

Hi, the rear electric window regulator has broken on my 2000 avensis estate. My local breaker has one, but it is on a saloon. Does anyone know what the difference is between them please.

They are different part numbers, but was wandering what the difference is. The cable on mine has snapped, and was wandering if i could take the bits off one, and swap onto another to make one good one. Might have to use parts finder, but that usually adds about another £10 on for postage, and can get a saloon one locally. Thanks

I checked ToyoDIY and the part numbers match.

The window has the same travel regardless of the body style, and it is cheaper to manufacture a universal part for all body types.

The doors are roughly the same apart from the rearmost shape which will follow the contour of the body style. The front doors are the same for all three body styles, if you see my logic.

ok thanks, when i rang my local parts dealer, they said it was a different part number for the estate, but saloon and hatchback were the same. They wanted £75.00 plus vat for a new one, where as the secondhand one is £25.00 all in, so if you say they are the same, i might risk it.

If it's any help I once repaired a window regulator using bicycle brake cable and barrel adjuster clips on the open end. It was a little "looser" than the other windows, but it worked a treat for the year I owned the car, and was still ok when i sold it.

what I would do now is take the broken one off and put it against the one from the saloon and then make the decision to buy
