Hi all, i'm hoping to get some advice on my recently bought Toyota hilux 2007 mk6 3.0 D4D, i won't boar you to much with the detail's, but after getting the motor home it become apparent that there is an never ending rattle coming from the engine, now i have done some research about this particular engine and i'm aware of the injector problem, i have checked with Toyota and this truck had the injectors done in 2010, only 30000 miles ago, even when it's at running temperature i still get rattling at low speed, and when im going though the gears, when i put the engine under pressure it go's away, is this normal.... or do i have to live with what sounds like demented drum playing baboon under my bonnet....

Hi Dave,

thanks for your info, i'll try the two stroke method first, then go from there, i'll let you know if it makes any difference to the ejector rattle.

My hilux had the same rattle under load like diesel knock filled tank up with top quilty fuel and fuel additive engine still the same. Had a guy look it over and recommend a terraclean which plugs into your fuel lines and runs the engine on tHe cleaning fluid . It cleans all the fuel system and top of engine , valves , ports exhaust recirculation system dpi filters the lot. Got me truck back it was bang on highly recommend you give it a go cost me 126.00 quid .
