Occasional Idling Wierdness

When I start the car in the morning its fine...revs a 1300ish until warm. Then only sometimes...when I tun the car off (when temps are normal) and I restart the car...oooh lets say 15 min later....it idles low (bout 750..normal is 850)

Also the revs dont rise when I raise the headlights(usually goes from 850-950).

This has happened once or twice recently but its not worrying the car runs fine just idles low... is it something to do with the heat level in the engine bay or is it an electrical thingy...if it was electrical it would happen all the time I would think no? Plus fuel is always optimax I never mix brands.

Any ideas?

I'm beginning to think my idle issue is heat related.. it happened twice, both on very hot days. Never again since. Engine temp etc was fine tho.

with the warmer weather, and u guys running greater power it could very well be heat related.

Like I said... looks like I'll take it to dastek boys in a few weeks for them to have a look.

To fix, you probably need to ensure that less engine bay heat gets to the air intake. Does your apexi have a heat sheid fitted?

I'm not sure mate.. I would have to have a squizz, I would think it has, but they had to modify something on it because the alarm was in the way.

Will have a look when I get the car back.

from the pics/fitting instructions the filter comes with a chromed sheild which I assume is a heat shield. - It should deflect the hot air from the engine bay a little.

I'll have a good squizz when I get it back.. maybe a better H/sheild is need for it. Possible it was moved when the modded it.. dunno.
