Unusual Knocking Sound After Braking Stop

I am having an existing problem with the car and would be grateful for some insight. I have been noticing a knocking sound from the car 2-4 seconds after the car brakes are applied and it comes to a normal stop. This began roughly 3 months back and is now happening on a consistent basis. I have approached the authorized Service center and even though their technicians have had a look, many test drives and replacing the brake fluid has not stopped the knocking noise. I am clueless as to what the reason for the noise is and there has been no further feedback or explanation from the authorized dealer except, they have compared with other car and do not find any difference. I can however confirm, that this sound was not heard when the car was purchased or until just 3 months back. To be specific, there are clearly audible 3 knocks from the front after 2-4 seconds of the normal stop.

As, I am not getting much further with this and the whole issue is getting nowhere with no clear explanation or reason for the knocking, I would like to seek help in throwing light on this issue.

Is it a first generation or a second generation Auris?

Yes it is first generation - the second generation went on sale in the UK from December 2012.
