What To Do When Buying A Celica?

Toyota GT86-91

Hey guys I'm new to this forum, happy to be here.

I wanted to ask a question to see if anyone can help me or give me some advice. I'm looking to buy a toyota celica in the near future hopefully 2004 one or if i'm lucky GT4 version.

What should I be looking for when buying a Toyota Celica other then Mileage ? Also what can I do with the car if i wanted a bit more kick in power but not crazy enough so the car feels right and not over the top. ?

Hi...welcome.

Sounds like you might prefer the Celica VVTLi..the 190 bhp version..with lift (the hooligan factor..lol)..? (as against the VVTi 140bhp).

Not that much to worry about tbh...but as always...history is key.

If it's been looked after and cared for...had the appropriate oil/filter changes etc..then you'll have a great car.!

Check all the usual things you would on any car but particularly check the cooling and that the rad is ok...Celica rads can fail but are inexpensive to replace...it's just the bleeding process and getting all the air locks out that's the ball ache.

Check discs/calipers too.!

good luck

Neil
