T180 - Harsh Ride - Your Wise Words Please ...

Hi all - grateful in advance for your advice and comments. I've got an 08 plate T180, with a niggling problem. Chronology is as follows:

For many years: super ride, smooth as anything.

Then: ride deteriorates, pretty suddenly

Soon after: occasional thumps from the back

Garage: rollbar link end completely gone on one side; both links replaced

Thumps resolved, but still poor ride

Then: exhaust shears just behind the main silencer, leaving the rear section (including the tiny last silencer box) free

Wire up the rear box loosely to take it to the garage - previous lovely ride restored!

Garage: exhaust repaired (welded the shear) - all tight, but poor ride returns

It feels like the suspension is too hard - feels every niggle in the road, and is very jiggly. Tightens up at higher speed so that it's much less noticeable.

At the moment, I'm not sure which of any of this is "cause" and which is "effect" ! All the shocks look OK.
