How To Obtain A Map Update?

Hi, my Rav4 which is coming up to 3 yers old, i joined a Toyota 'Portal' to try and get a map update. I found out my radio long digit/numerical number, found out my software version, found out my map I.D., then the portal said, 'obtain update' but where from? On the last page on the screen on the 'Touch and Go' there is a 'copy to USB' sign but i would of thought you use a USB to update the maps already held within the car. Just a bit confused by it all annd asking if i am doing something wrong? I read somewhere on this forum that updates are free for cars up to 3 years old so i thought of course i'd get the 'freebie' but i just can't work out the last part, help/suggestions req'd please.

if you have Touch & Go + you probably have 3 years "mapcare" i.e. free upgrades. If you just have plain Touch & Go you won't.

Let the dealer do it at the next service! It is a real b@llache you end up needing to sit in the car for 30mins with the engine running.

You need to download software onto your PC install and register and then introduce the USB key to it with the signature from the T & G unit, it will then either ask for £100+ or say you have a free update if you have the T & G plus (if the dealer registered it correctly when you purchased the car) then you can install the update.
