Hello All; Bad Vibes On My D4D

Hi folks, im a newbie on this forum. Thanks for having me. I have a 53 rav4 d4d. Its got 35k and ftsh so is a nice example! Ive got a small issue im looking for advice on; im getting vibrations under load in 3rd 4th and 5th. Usually up an incline but at a variety of speeds. The car vibrates and buzzes and in 5th at 40mph to 52mph it is really unhappy. Not obvious where from but the dash, rear door and my seat are all vibrating. Rear view mirror goes blurry! Driveshafts look ok and feel tight, prop feel tight and ujs seem ok. Prop centre bush moves a fair bit on tugging it. Not sure if this is normal? Does anyone have any ideas? It does make a creaking on full right lock on an incline. Cv joint maybe? Amy help gratefully received! :)

Hi there, I discovered what was wrong through some trial and error and it has turned out to be two issues, possibly linked. Shame I didn't get any response on the original query but for anyone with similar problems it was just a stuck turbo actuator which I initially lubed using 3 in 1 just as an experiment without taking stuff off. Made the car smoother and stopped the overboost code and limp mode occurring when the throttle was mashed. It lasted a couple of weeks before the oil burned off so I took the intercooler, exhaust shield and boost capsule thingy off the turbo and used a load of copper slip in there with a brush to lube the actuator mech. Worked nicely and she vibrates far less and has more power too. Unfortunately i think the PO had this issue for a while and lugged the car as the DMF is whirring and i'm getting more and more clutch judder at low revs plus vibrations (although a different sort to the ones the turbo caused if that makes sense). I think therefore that the DMF is going which is not usual for 35k. But as above, I think the lugging effect and vibes have weakened an already poor DMF on these earlier Ravs.

So I guess I will just run her until she goes and fit a new Luk clutch and DMF kit.

Hope this is a help to others with a similar problem.
