Hi,

I've noticed a plasticky clonk when turning the steering wheel over the last few months. It doesnt feel like a mechanical steering linkage type clonk like a track rod end or anti roll link. It feels like play in the motor or internal mechanism. It tends to do it more when returning to centre. The steering has good feel in general

I can provoke the situation by giving a foot full of accelaration whilst turning, in which case the feeling os worse giving a lot of vibration through the underside of the steering column and through the wheel.

I read a lot about the "P/S" type light fault on the dash, I'm not getting that so the electronic side seems ok.

Slightly annoying as I assume a big job to dismantle the dash to retrieve the column assembly and to find a sutiable verifiied replacement unit. I'm not intending to do anything yet but just to gauge opinions/experiences.

Anyone?
