Radio Jump

Hi everyone,

Recently bought a Yaris 1.0 03 for my partner. Everything is fine except there have been four occasions when driving when listening to the radio where the station jumps to a totally different station, occasionally with louder volume. We have no radio control on the steering or indicator arms so this isn't the issue.

Any advice? Since it has happened the yellow symbol on the dash showing "take vehicle to Toyota dealer " had lit up. I assume it is an electrical fault? If so any advice how to correct this?

Sounds to me like an intermittent fault has developed in the 12V side of things. Perhaps a failed Battery, the diode pack on the alternator or even the alternator itself may be going west?

Disable TF/TP and see if that helps, but if the check engine light has come on it does suggest an electrical fault...
