Locking Avensis Without Arming Alarm

My Avensis car alarm has recently started to go off for no reason over night.

The garage say they cannot find anything wrong.

Is there a way to secure the car without setting the alarm?

Would appreciate any help.

My old 2008 TR did this, particularly in high winds: I used to lock it with the key in drivers door only (DON'T press lock button on key!!). See if that works...

yup, just lock it with the key. That shouldn't arm the alarm.

The alarm is probably going off either because the Battery voltage is dropping, because there is something in the car (e.g. insect) setting off the internal sensors or high winds or somebody is rocking the car.
