Avensis Advice Needed

Hello all, went to look at a 2004 avensis T3-X 2.0 petrol today, 86,000 mls, seen all the mot certs to prove miles.

Whats your thoughts on this type? are they bombproof? Whats the engine like?

my old carina e is 1993 1.6 with 353,000 on the clock but sadly going downhill. The best car i'll ever drive

I would say, not too much issues. The engine is not the same as the 1ZZ-FE 1.8 engine, which is notorious for the oil burning issue. The 2.0l has direct injection, but again there are not many issues.

The headlights are known for some issues.

Everything will be wear & tear and age issues.

Just make sure it has regular oil changes which protects the timing chain and other parts.
