Yaris Loud Exhaust

Hi, Bought my Yaris 1.3 Auto 2012 a few weeks ago, 15,000 miles, I like it but find the exhaust quite loud, I think the yaris is a bit on the loud side normally but this seems a bit excessive, really noticeable when starting from cold, some would call it sporty, not as bad when hot, sounds to me like the baffles have gone in back box, would just like other owners to say how they find theirs and if this is normal, I like a quiet car and its putting me off a bit. Hi , I have a 62 Reg 1.33 SR and have not noticed that it is any noisier than normal, yours must still be under Toyota warranty, get it checked out, sounds ,(excuse the pun) as if you may have damage or a leak .

I've a '14 reg, 1.3, petrol Icon and one of the first things I noticed was the 'raspberry' exhaust note, particularly when starting from cold in the garage.

The back box is tiny and from inspection 'straight through' (get down on your knees and shine a torch up the tailpipe). I assume it's only there to take some of the harshness out of the exhaust note.

I quite like it!

Thanks for the replies, the raspberry description pretty much describes it, sounds like a motor boat, I know what you mean about some people like it, maybe because I am getting on a bit .. I like things quiet, if its normal then I will get to live with it, it just seems to much to be normal, when I was buying it there was lots of traffic about so it was when I got it home in the quiet I first noticed it

I have a 2014 1.33 Yaris and my exhaust certainly sounds quite loud, my Avensis had the same sound but not quite as loud. I also quite like it but I had been a bit concerned about it so popped on here. Seems it must be quite normal.
