Engine Warning Light

hello my corolla 1.6 gs vvti engine warning light has come on and car idles at 800 rpm cold and 1200 rpm hot any ideas please but still starts and drives like normal thank you

You need to get a fault code reader on it and read the fault codes. Find a friend with one or else take it to a garage for diagnosis.

car fixed fault reader read idle control valve but mate told me to strip and clean with wd40 there was a ring of gunk around butterfly so cleaned then run and car running like new and warning light went offf on its own cheers guys
