Hello Maris - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Presume this is the low engine coolant temperature light which has a 'C' and a 'thermometer/water' symbol'

You haven't said whether your car is petrol, diesel or hybrid. Have a look at pages 281-283 of the Owners Manual

Think these would come on as a check that the systems are OK, and go out after a few seconds. If it stays on or doesn't come on at all, that is the time to get the car checked.

This sounds normal to me - on my 2009 Verso (2.0 D4D) there is a blue indicator that comes on when you first start the engine (if the engine is cold) and then goes after after a few minutes once the engine (and coolant ) has warmed up. My 1999 Yaris 1.0 Petrol has a similar indicator.

It's also a blue light in my 2015 Yaris. Light goes off when coolant temperature is in regular operation range.
