Unless modified:

Lo mode - 115bhp, low pressure boost

Hi mode - 135bhp, high pressure mode.

Think of it as an economy button, or "girlie" button :)

Unless there is a fault you should notice a big difference - lots more acceleration... The bit that the switch controls can stick shut, but you can by-pass it and I can explain how if you wish.

Right. I'm going to assume a low technical knowledge, if not, forgive me.

Open bonnet...

On the top of the engine is the oil filler cap. To the left of the oil cap are three metal pipes running parallel to each other from the front to back of the engine bay.

They will have rubber pipes at each end.

If you look the left hand one goes from a metal pipe, to a rubber pipe which goes down 90 degrees and connects to a device with a couple of electrical wires running to it. There is another pipe coming out of it which connects to the middle of the three metal pipes.

The device is a solenoid and this can stick.

The rubber hoses have a clip at each end. These are easy to undo with a pair of pliers (or fingers if they are strong). What you need to do is undo the left hand rubber hose where is goes into the solenoid, and connect it to the middle metal pipe, so there is a loop. This bypasses the solenoid and fixes the car in HI turbo mode.

I hope the picture attached helps make it clear.

With HI mode engaged there should be noticably more power... :hokus-pokus:

I hope this helps. If it doesn't improve anything, it is easy to put the car back to how it was.
