how does the hand-brake work on the rear discs of a Carina II please? Is it diddy drums inside the discs? I was just interested...

It certainly is, it's a combined disc/drum arrangement, the discs being for the hydraulic service brake & the drums for the handbrake & they're not as small as you may think, I had mine apart the other week as one had siezed on, did puzzle me at 1st!

OK, Thanks for that. I s'pose it's a low-tech (i.e. works) solution to the problem. [My AUDI rear discs were tremendous fun when I had a faulty caliper] :yes:
