After 10 Minutes Driving The Ac Lamp Is Blinking

Hi Everyone!

I own a 2004 VVTi, 2.0Ltr. Rav4, and since last year the ac warning lights blinks (and ac stops) when the outside temp. is over 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees F.) after the first 10 minutes of driving, (engine was cold.)

With higher outside temp. (or with a warm engine) it will take shorter time, to immediatly...

If the outside temp. is below 20 degrees there is no problem, or appears after one hour or so..

Took the car to a ac specialist, and they checked everything, and the gas pressure(s) where OK, and the whole system seemed OK...Mechanicly spoken...

Since it looked like a temperature issue, they replaced the outside temp. sensor, but the problem stayed...

The ac guys mentioned that it also could be a Engine Coolant Temp. sensor failure, since this one overrules the ac when engine is overheated. But they didn't replace it. (btw; engine temp. is not getting high on the dasboard meter).

Does that make sense to you??

Does anyone recognize this problem??? Toyota Netherlands didn't though...and didn't have (cheap) solutions...in the first place.

As always; I'm the first of having such issues, I guess... :disgust:

Well; if anyone ever heard of this, or knows what to do; please respond..

Thanx in advance!

Mark
