Hints If A Cylinder Cuts Out

My lovely old T22 just started running on 3.

New plugs didn't cure the problem.

I'd never changed the fuel filter (naughty) so I did that

(Didn,t cure the problem)

Decided it was a injector. Fitted some more

Didn't cure the problem...

checked for a spark. no spark on number 3

swapped over plug coils…3 now has a spark.

cured the problem ! (ordered new coil pack £8 on e bay)

so check those plug coils (the caps that go on the plugs)

I now have spare injectors that I probably will never need but never mind eh?

yes. you got the right order of elimination. I will hang ion to the spares as I intend to keep this car for ever!

last of the DIY cars really, built like a tank and I can mend it myself…what's not to like?

Good luck, its good that you mend it your self it saves alot of money and your not waiting around for mechanics.

it's such a shock when it goes wrong! Only done 185,000 ! When I bought this car (7 years ago for £800) I was amazed how quiet and smooth it was. Since then

it's just been keeping the brakes freed up /discs/pads, alternator replaced and the coil, exhaust and tyres. regular oil and filter changes and there you go- in my opinion

the best budget motor ever.
