T27 Tourer - Alarm Issues

I have a 2012 Tourer, and since getting it, the alarm keeps going off at random times.

it has been into Toyota (several times) and has had the interior sensor unit replaced and the sensitivity adjusted.. but still the problem persists.

I have been monitoring it the last few weeks, and have noticed that it doesn't occur if i press the interior button before locking - which is supposed to switch off the interior sensor.. but i don't think it is anything to do with the interior sensor...

so my question is - what does the switch actually turn off on the alarm.???

the reason i am asking.. is i think I may have tracked the issue down to the rear boot door... as i have seen the alarm be ok, but then go crazy after opening and closing the boot door.. but then stop happening once i open and close it again... might just be a coincidence.. hence my question
