Love My Rav!

Greetings - bought a 2008 XT5, it's only done 38000 miles and is like a new car inside.

The only thing I am a bit disappointed with is the fact that the bluetooth on the radio, doesn't allow me to stream music from my phone. I had a Sony cd/radio in my last car, which I streamed music from my iPhone 6 to, but it looks like I will have to rely on CDs again with this one.... like taking a step back into the dark ages but I will cope... I love the car too much to be TOO disappointed!

I can take phone calls via the bluetooth but I don't think it was ever set up to receive music, maybe too old a system for that. The dealer I spoke to told me there wasn't even an updated system I could have installed, which surprised me.

Smart phones only really took off in 2007, streaming music was unheard of, you do have old technology, but the car is 7 years old, imagine what the iPhone will be like in 7 years?

You could always buy a new headunit and fit that, a genuine one would be prohibitive in price but there are plenty of auto electrical specialists to do it for you and you could then have a headunit that has bluetooth / streaming etc built in

the head unit should be able to play mp3s stored on a CD - you can get many albums/tracks onto 1 CD that way.

Thanks, I've got about 300 songs in my iTunes library and converted them to mp3s but it made me use 3 CD-R's to burn them - I then managed to get 60 songs on to one disc so that's not too bad. Don't know how people get hundreds on to a disc but at least 60 will be ok for now!
