Stereo Sd Card

White Auris

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 2006 Auris which is an import from Japan. The stereo can play music from an SD card as well as AUX Cd and hard drive. Does anyone know what format to use for the SD card or if I need a special card. I have tried WMA MP3 and different FAT settings but to no avail. As the stereo is in Japanese It is a bit of a hit and miss affair! I am in New Zealand. The stereo works well otherwise and I'm not keen to replace it at this stage. Thanks!

Are you sure the SD card supports audio use, Toyota tended to use SD cards for Sat nav mapping.

Hi, just above the slot for the card it says 'MP3 and WMA' the dealer thought it should work too as previous cars he sold have. I had hoped someone on here had the same issue. I think it has something to do with the format used. Have tried everything I know of.

Thanks for your help.!

Are you sure the card is not locked? Did you try another card? Size, manufacturer, speed... Everything can matter and cause the card to be incompatible!

Yes, I have tried, MP3 wma. Fat 32 just Fat. Tried a folder within the card also. SDHD, SD, Different sizes also. It must be a certain combination and was hoping someone had Sussed it! is time consuming reformatting all the time! Thanks for reading!

As you have a 2006 car (stereo possibly older) the system might not understand a SDHC card.

A "old" style SD card might be needed plus the older systems will only take around 500 tracks.

Try loading fewer track on a SD card and see what happens, other than that I'm a bit stumped.

To test the sd card try putting a few pics on there.... See if the stereo will read from the card...

I haven't found a solution to this. My stereo also has a hard drive so will record a cd. I have burnt some of my music onto a cd and, with the correct format, have it in the hard drive now. Please let me know if you manage to suss it out tho! Thanks
