Engine Management Light And Slight Oil Leak

I am looking at a getting a Celica (2003 - facelift) but the car had advisories on last MOT.

EML on.

Oil leak.

Seller says the light is intermittent and he was advised it is not a big deal, he has to top the oil up every six months or so.

Worth buying if I can get a good deal on it?

TIA

Personally, I would walk away, Cee. There's plenty out there with a clean bill of health, so why take the risk of inheriting the oil burning issue.

Thanks for the response. It is a little worrying isn't it? Will give that one a miss.

On a somewhat unrelated note.

Took a look at a t sport yesterday. Over heated as soon as I started getting over 6000rpm. (Thanks to the great advice here I made sure I tested lift.)

Can't believe how shady some people are. The car was clearly total crap, why make me come all that way for that?

(And the coward sent his little sister to show me the car too haha)

It happens.....just keep looking..there's a good few out there.

Be patient.. do all the checks and you'll find the one that's right for you.
