Door Buffer Noise / Ill Fitting Doors

Anyone know of a way, if there is a way to tighten the doors on a 2009 Auris 3 door, they don't pull up tight, so cause a buffering noise on almost all road surfaces that aren't baby bottom smooth! :(

Door seals seem in good condition tried packing the door seal slightly but no luck, Almost as if the seals are too soft for a heavy door.

More rattles than my old c4 and that's French!

I had this noise from my drivers door and found that spraying the rubber door seals with a can of silicone spray seemed to stop, or at least greatly reduce it.

Some of the early Auris did have rattles.

2 door cars have bigger doors than 4 door cars so they're prone to more wear and sag, especially the drivers door. Check if your door hinges are worn by lifting the door from the bottom corner and checking for movement at the hinge pins. If your hinge pins are worn you'll never get the door to shut right.

Otherwise you can adjust the doors by slackening off the screws on the door striker plate (on the B pillar where the door closes) and moving the striker plate inwards a bit. Trial and error 'til you get it right.

I did this once on a 2dr Golf I owned.

Adjusted the strike plate a bit and all was well.

And don't forget to somehow mark the striker plate's original position before slackening anything - just in case!

Today I only slightly adjusted the door latch on the car body. This has seemingly sorted the problem.

Now to Shell out for new pads and discs at the back look fairly pitted and can't see much pad left :(
