Picnic Won't Start

Hi I'm new to this site I just replaced my ignition barrel with a new one and now my car won't start I took it out originally as steering lock stuck on and I could not get it off I was 40 miles away from home and had to get it loaded on a trailer now it's back home I took out the old barrel which released the steering lock and then used the white piece at the back to start the car and get it on my drive now I have a new barrel and tried starting it again with the white bit first and it won't start I did take the Battery off originally but it did start when put back but does not now please can you help

May be a fuse has blown.

What happens when you try to start it, does it crank?

Does it have an immobilizer?

Hi it turns over ok I don't know if it has an immobiliser I don't know if it has a chip in the key but I am confused because it did start to get me to my mother in laws which is 10 mins away my heater plug light goes out but my other lights dont
