Poor Starting -fuel Problems

Hi I am new to the site and have started experiencing a real problem with my rav

(2005 2.0 diesel)

It randomly will not start. It turns over and over and over.

It's has recently had a service (inc fuel filter) and Battery is ok.

It doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold, only when engine is stopped not running.

As though the fuel is draining back out of the fuel housing and then has to get back up there to kick in.

It doesn't matter if it is warm or cold outside.

I am thinking a fuel filter housing but the heater version is -£130....

I was just hoping to get some feedback before I Shell out for it, just in case it's not that.

My mechanic did say he could put in a one way check valve to keep the pressure at the housing but was hoping to get it sorted with right parts??

Hi Kim and welcome,

Has this problem only started happening since the vehicle has been serviced ?, because there were some posts on here before due to problems with after market fuel filters.

regards colin

Hi Colin

No I was having the problem before.
