Yaris 01 1.3 Lazy Starter?

Hi all,

Yaris 1.3 2001, owned for a year, 3 times within that year when Igo to start the car the starter motor sounds more high pitch and the engine turns over slowly,batt fine, thinking lazy starter,are these a common problem?

Possible causes:

weak Battery

alternator not charging properly.

Earth connections from Battery corroded. (clean)

Battery connections loose.(tighten)

Try last two first.
