Previously the Stop/Start system was only used on Auris with manual transmission - are you sure it is on the CVT???

Unless someone has already got a 1.2T CVT and can answer the question for you, you may be best to enquire of Toyota GB, either customer services directly or via http://blog.toyota.co.uk

I know that on my BMW 320d automatic which has stop/start I push down the brake pedal slightly more at stationairy and it turns off, press accelerator again to start.

For anyone who is interested I have just received this from Toyota Uk

When the car engages start/stop it is a separate function and the car is aware that you are going to pull off again shorty and instead just waits for the accelerator to be depressed and engine starts.
