5.30PM today door bell goes, surley cant be delivery now i thought.......wrong, my A'PEXi induction kit, OZ Titans, Toyos and 3g Discs all arrived.

Well just fitted the Apexi Kit And went for a quick spin........

APEXI1.jpg

Apexi2.jpg

all went together very well (all instructions in Japanise but piccys too) only a bit of fiddling round was needed , much better than K+N and Pipercross kits ive had in the past on other cars, a good peice of quality Jap Tuning.

Also the first time ive worked on my Yaris and only doing a little job like this the build quality shines trough .

Ok...Its a very very sexy induction roar sounds best at about 3.5K under full throtle, can notice a bit more torque at low revs and the motor seems much more responsive and willing all the way trough the range.

Overall all a top quality peice of kit well worth £120 quid.

Thanks to Kevin at ENVY and all of you who reccomended it

Hello

Im looking into installing an AEM Cold Air Intake kit, on my 2004 Echo (Yaris sedan/Platz).

What will be the difference between that kit and an Apexi filter all alone? I mean, which will be better or something.

Hi Nizan

Glad you like the induction kit mate. Doesn't it sound a lot better with the induction kit on now  Engine doesn't sound like it's been thrashed all the time now once the revs are high. Look forward to seeing your motor with the new wheels on mate

Do you mean the difference between a induction cone and a replacement panel filter?

is it really that simple?

i want to install one.. and take it out every time i go to the garage (so my warranty wont void)

yea thats a good question, suddenly occured to me, will i need to take it out ev time i have an mot or will it pass with this, and secondly will this void warrenty

No problem at all with the MOT...remember they don't check the engine at all...other than emissions.

Warranty...it's been brought up before....unless your dealer is a tad anal retentive, the induction kit shouldn't make a difference. It would only void your warranty if it's proven that the after-market kit directly casued the problem what you were claiming under.

Hmmm more I hear about this....the more I want to do it too..... what were the delivery times like?

Was it necessary to turn the Battery around?

Oh...and being "dry" filters....are they still lifetime? ie....are they washable?...or it is just a case of taking it off..and shaking all the dead wasps out?!

Additional... LOL just checked with my insurance...they won't cover me if I make the change ...oh well..Halifax insurance is just about to lose my custom I belive!

Pleased, you got all the kit OK!

To clean the filter you should first remove it, then give it a blast with compressed air from an air line or you could use one of those compressed air cans that are used to clean dust from PC's, that should do the Trick.

I have a few of the filters in stock at the moment if anyone is interested in one.

Thanks

Kevin
