Hi guys/gals I'm thinking of bringing my wife's 2006 Corolla SR into the modern times with an auxiliary lead. I have been searching for the right one now for weeks now, and i'm looking for some advice. I want one that has a usb or 3.5 jack or even better both :) but the problem is I can't find one that has an end that plugs into the dash. I hate the loose hanging one's looks very cheap. So was wondering if anyone knows if such an auxiliary lead exists or not.

Thanks

What do you mean?

The most common ones are made by Connects2, GromAudio and XCarlink (Easily found via Google), but I'm not sure what you mean by one hat plugs into the dash...?

What about simply replacing the complete head unit ?

( folk say they will loose the mpg meter - but does anyone really use it - its not that accurate anyway)

For about £80 you can get , say a Pioneer single din unit with everything built in to the front bezel, bt,mp3,i, usb etc

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/head-units?brand=20

You can get adaptor plates and fixing kits fron the same place, which seem a reasonable fit.

You could also get a double din unit, but seems the fit of the adaptor is not so good from what forum member have said in the past

Search this forum and also the audio forum and you will find pics of folk who have fitted them.

A new pair of front Speakers will also improve the sound notiicably.i used some pioneers with separate tweeter - great sound even with the stock head unit.

Yep I starting to think that replacing the radio would be the easiest route Oldcodger, and i don't think the wife would know about the mpg meter. :)

Thanks Oldcodger i do agree with you on the singles and i think it's the way i will go, Halfords has good deals on at the minute. And i think i can use my trade card on radio's now.
