Suppressed by VW for two years using an injunction, the research highlights weaknesses in keyless entry systems. The system in question is not used by Toyota, but the Metropolitan Police said that around half of all vehicles stolen in 2014 were stolen without keys. Other systems must also be suspect as high end Range Rovers, etc which don't use this system have been the subject of increasing theft in some areas.

So are the days of the Krooklock back?

I use an additional steering wheel lock when packed up at the office. I can't fully trust the keyless lock system. Yes, someone may come along with a hacksaw to chop bits of the steering wheel out to get it off but its that additional time it takes for someone to possibly notice they are up to no good!
