Bad Sound

HI

I'm from Portugal and I needed help.

I have a problem in my avensis 2.0 d4d 2008, bought in 2014 and has 160 kph, 100mph.

In small bumps or small holes I hear a sound like a toc toc, the passenger side, a few days more other days less if I take some passengers, rarely makes noise.

I wonder if someone can help me, if these cars usually give problems in steering box or other things, and how to identify problems, to not spend money unnecessarily.

Sorry my bad english

Hi, from your description I'd be looking at the bottom ball joint and the drop link on the passenger side. It could also be the strut mount but much less likely. Hope that helps. The steering on the Avensis I'd very reliable in general, but there could also be wear to the track rod end. To check you'll need a safe way to raise that corner of the car from the ground, remove the wheel, you'll also need a pry bar or done means of exerting pressure on those joints, and preferably someone to watch and tell you if there is movement.

Not able to detect any slack.

I will try however to change the damper on the left po right if possible.

I needed to know if it is possible to exchange.

It seems to me that are the original, with 165 kph already must be very tired

I needed to know if anyone had these problems avensis.
