Door Mirror Replacement Cost?

I knew it would happen sooner or later if I wasn't careful!!!

Reversing into the drive this evening, I clipped the gate pillar with the passenger door mirror, and cleaved it off of the mount. There were bits flying everywhere. The only things that didn't explode was the mirror glass and the built-in indicator. The rest is toast!!!

Anyone know the rough cost of a complete left-hand door mirror assembly for a MK III Prius from Mr Toyota?

Try sending Parts King a personal message, detailing your car (reg number as a minimum) and what you want. I'm sure he will be able to provide a price for the parts and may be able to indicate fitting time.

Another driver knocked the mirror off aprevious Gen 2 Prius I owned. The driver of the other car came round a bend on my side of the road took my mirror off but did not stop. I was not aware at the time that if you report an incident to an insurance company it automatically goes down as a claim. I never claimed as it was cheaper to have the repair done by Toyota and not lose my no claim bonus. I seem to recall it was about £200 for the complete job.

I got in touch with the parts manager in my local Toyota garage this morning. Left hand door mirror complete, is coming in at €170 + €50 for the coloured back plate.

Luckily enough my back plate flew off intact.

I'll be collecting my new part tomorrow morning. One expensive lesson learned!!!
