Touch And Go Sat Nav Lock Up After Traffic Updates

Hi,

I have now owned the Auris hybrid estate for a month. Bought from a Toyota Dealer with 4 years warranty left. It was previously a Toyota corporate car.

I have been trying to get to grips with the Sat Nav and specifically the Traffic updates via the internet. I use an iPhone 6 and have the internet working reliably. I have switched the traffic updates to Internet and not the TMC options. I find the updates viathe Internet sluggish and have to refresh a couple of times before the traffic updates are displayed.

I have noticed that you can change the screen view whilst in Sat Nav and the traffic updates just disappear..... I then refresh the traffic "show All" a couple of times and it comes back. During this cycle of updates I noticed the road map display was blacked out and the bottom of the screen showed the distance to the next turn. This distance did not update as I approached the turning. Other functions like Media would work. When I arrived at my destination I took a video of what was happening. I could only recover full operation of the Sat Nav by powering down the car, counting to 10 then power up again.

I am concerned that the sat nav requires too much attention to keep the traffic updates current and is a distraction to the drive when this happens.

Has anyone seen this sort of behaviour before?

regards

Don

Within the traffic update section there is a sub menu that allows you to set how often the car looks for updates in the UK and how often if you are abroad, i believe the default is only update when user selects so you may need to change this to one of the automatic options. As for the freezing of the map have you registered on "my toyota" as there may a software update that can be downloaded.
