2015 Auris Hybrid

Anyone know what changes they have made for 2015? I have a 2013 Excel Hybrid which is fine except for two annoying features. The speedo is unreadable and the tires ruin the fuel consumption. A quick look on-line and the new one looks to be the same except for horrible "bling" chrome. Subtle, understatement its not.Looks like another exercise in style over substance.

The new Excel includes a full colour info screen in between the Speedo and Rev counter which can display current speed in large print as for he Speedo its pretty similar to the pre facelift Excel, the wheels/tyres are the same as the current Excel

Ok so why cant my Toyota dealer program my screen to show the same? For two years I have been complaining to Toyota GB and my dealer that the current speedo is not fit for purpose. The info screen is fine but just shows meaningless rubbish or averages. I have even fitted a Hud-e. I do not believe the program controlling the current screen and the new one are that dissimilar, or that the on board computer has changed. The fact is that once sold Toyota GB have no interest in customer support. Their is no channel open to customers to address such fundamental simple *****-ups. Hence the endless recalls. Unless the DVLA force a change upon them (and even then) they do not give a damn. Once Techstream catches up with the new model I will look at finding a way to program the the damn thing myself. I have had no problems with my car because thanks to blogs such as this I have preempted known issues. When away I left the Battery on Airflow trickle, over-inflated the tires and took normal precautions. After 54 years of car ownership I have learned the hard way. Most of the problems with the Toyota,s I have owned could have been avoided if Toyota had listened to customer complaints and acted on them. All of my Hybrids have been subject to recalls, some more than one, which were reported on blogs but ignored.

I hoped this would be my last car as it the best Hybrid I have had (its my third) but in Canada I drove a Hyundai Hybrid and it was very simular. If they release it here I will change. I also looked at a BMW 3 series with emissions low enough to not pay tax. Stupid tires and no spare but they are not bespoke. After countless Fords, SAABS, Volvos, Mercs, a Honda, DAF (first CVT) Citroen (first stop-start) a Rover, Singer Lexus and 5 Toyota,s this will be my fear this will be my last. Good car Crap support.
