Help- Toyota Ipsum/picnic

i have a 98 ipsum , bought it a litttle under a year ago. great service history well looked after car.

now a 2 months or so back it started doing this strange noise , yes one
of those noises - when its first started , and the wheel turned mostly
to the left hand down with slow movement or no movement , theres a like a
loud bang, clank clunk not sure how to describe it. like and unwound
spring noise. ive had a mechanic under there looking ,had it up on a
hoist , but no one can see anything as to what it is . everything looks
fine under there apparantly , only thing a mechanic could find was the
noise was coming from around the power steer rack mount but as soon as
its driven for a very short distance it goes away!

Hmm... It is weird. I am not a specialist. I would recomend to go to any Toyota dealer or service center in order to check it out.
