Hi All

Can anyone advise me...I bought a new Yaris a few months ago on finance now someone's dented my rear bumper in a car park and drove off. the back light cover is bit cracked too. Supposing the bumper bar isn't damaged does anyone know how much this will cost to replace and do I have to get toyota to fix it if it's on finance? Thanks for any help

Hello Luisa - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Finance - Hire Purchase or Personal Contract Plan? With Toyota Finance or a third party finance company?

If it is a PCP, check your terms and conditions.

Would have thought that you may be able to get it repaired by a good bodyshop, but as it is only a few months old you will probably be reliant on using a Toyota bumper rather than pattern parts.

Moved to Yaris club.

Same thing happened to me, but it was only a small dent and some paint missing. Cost £130 to fill and paint at a local body shop.

Doubt if you have to get Toyota to fix it. Surely this is up to your insurance company to pay for it. Cannot imagine a finance company being liable.

As for cost I have no idea how much a new bumper costs but It would be expensive plus painting and fitting. Total cost probably £400 plus including light cover.

If its not that bad and not totally wrecked a local body shop will fix it for much less cost.

This isn't what was asked or implied, they just wanted to know if they were contractually obliged to use Toyota for the repair.

And it probably won't be worth going to insurance in the long run with NCD being affected and future premiums etc.
