Hands Free Phone Volume Issue

I have an Aygo mode with the Tom Tom connect multimedia sat nav, the problem is when using the blue tooth hands free phone option the speaker volume is so low that you can't hear the person on the other end of the line. Does anyone know how to raise the volume level for the incoming speech. I tried turning up the radio volume control but it did nothing except when I ended the call the radio was really loud. Any ideas would be welcome?

When making/receiving a call touch the lower left of the touch screen and a volume slider will appear, same applies while navigating to increase nav voice instructions
