Universal Toyota Radiator Question

my 2002 echo's radiator cap is rated at 1.1 or 16 psi i think and the aftermarket one is rated at 13 lbs.is it better to have a higher psi rating or lower?

having a radiator cap is to pressurise (sp??) the coolant inside.

If you have a higher one,the purpose of this is if your engine is under significant heat load, the water is in liquid state instead of steam and would help cool down more.

If you have a lower one, then it would boil very quickly and boil your coolant away!!

If you haven't tuned you car, the stock one would just be alright
