How To Put The Back Seat Down ?

Hi,

I have been given a Yaris by my local Toyota dealer while he repairs my Avensis. Five weeks should do the job, apparently.

I have been trying to figure out how to put the back seat down. It has a 70/30 split. I can lift the leaver between the seats and get the 70% part to go down. I cannot get the other 30% part to go down. There are two levers in the boot, though. One is semi-circular and seems to turn anti-clockwise, the other is a straight bar that lifts upwards.

The bottom bart of the seat looks as if it is on hinges and will lift up. Is this correct and if so how do I lift it. The garden rubbish has been piling up while my car has been in the body shop and I don't fancy taking several trips down to my local dump. Each trip can take up to an hour at this time of year.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

David

slide the complete unit forward using the handle on the flat part of the seat inside the car. Then use the 2 small levers on the seat backs (interior) to drop them.

Go into the boot and flip the whole unit forward using the handle in the boot.

Doesnt yours have full instructions on the back of the seat anyway?

Oh i forgto, the ehadrests will need to come off before they flip over

Radtoy,

thanks for you reply. It made me realise that there was another lever inside the car that I had not noticed. I also did not realsie that the seat had to be pulled forward before it could be lifted, so thanks very much for the help.

Not realising there was a lever inside the car to pull the seat forward, I found the diagrams on the back of the seat confusing.

I have now been able to flip the seat and get rid of the rubbish, fantastic.

Thanks again for your help,

David
