Yaris Touch2 Phone Call Sound Quality Issue

I have a 65 plate Yaris Hybrid with Touch2..... Everyone who receives a call from us when using either of our phones on the cars bluetooth complains about the quality of the call they are hearing from us. It makes no difference if we are calling landlines or other mobiles. All the people we ring complain that the call quality is 'tinny' and they have to strain to listen hard to the call. Does anyone else have any experience of this problem and perhaps have a solution. My local dealer is struggling to find the fault.

I have found that there is a hidden menu on the touch2 that has within it a 'Hands-free voice quality setting' its currently set at 0000 and has a keypad to change the settings but I have no idea what 4 digit numbers would mean what, can anyone help please.

Can you explain how you found the hidden settings please.

Also, on our 2014 Yaris, and 2013 Prius we've no sound issues, one of the best built in hands free kits we've ever had, in fact miles a head of Fiat's Blue and Me system.

It sounds like you've potentially got a faulty microphone though, I'd push the dealer to replace this if possible.

To access the hidden menu of the Touch2

1. Press the start button to power up the car

2. Wait for the touch2 head unit to power up

3. Press and hold the top right button on the Touch2 (the little car one)

4. Whilst holding the button in, turn the lights on and off twice.

5. The menu should appear (White screen with several options to tap including the 'Hands-Free Voice Quality Settings"

6. To go back to the main screen of the Touch2 just power the car off and back on again.

There is a second hidden menu that has other options that can be accessed by repeating the same method but you press and hold the 'settings' button instead of the 'Car' button. It's the one below the below the 'car' button.

I changed the code to 1111 in the Hands-Free Voice Quality Settings and it's solved the problem... I let my Toyota Dealer know and they didn't even know about the hidden menu or the option to change the settings of the voice quality.

The Cami, otherwise known as the Daihatsu Terios, would have a different head unit to the Touch 2.

3rd generation (2011-2020) or 4th generation (2020 on - current Yaris)?
