Auris Sr180 Rear Brake Pad Clips/sliders Or Shims

Hi all a little help required if you can please.

Today I have changed my discs and pads all round, what a pain that was, I have also changed the brake fluid and bled the system.

Here's my problem on changing the rear pads I discovered that 1 of the pad guide shims/ shiny metal clip thingy (if that is what the're called) was missing I carried on anyway and used copper slip on reassembly.

Took it for a test drive and all works well including the handbrake apart from a slight knocking when braking can't tell where from though,

Would this be due to the missing shim?

If so could you let me know the correct name for them and any idea where I could get a set from.

I have tried to find them on eBay etc but not knowing the correct name makes it difficult.

Many thanks in advance Shane...

They're known by various names eg Anti-Rattle Clips, Brake Pad Abutment Clips or other. Sometimes they just come in a hardware kit and are not separately identified.

that looks the business Shane but isn't that Brentech pad goo only for the back of the pads, not for the anti-rattle shims? Personally I use lithium grease on 'em, seems to work OK. I've had a 14lb tin of that stuff for years and it is truly inert stuff, it doesn't oxidise or anything. I've used it since the days of the expander type manual brake adjusters.

Thanks for your replies Tom it was your first post that led me to find these by searching abutment clips and took it from there. I only want the clips and the tube of (free) goo will be kept in the shed for ?????

Many thanks again Shane
